To climb Tocllaraju mountain is very important to be well trained on some technical peaks because it has some difficult steep about 50°- 60° degrees before the summit.
DAY 01: HUARAZ – PASHPA – BASE CAMP OF ISHINCA (4,300M.)
We leave from Huaraz at 8:00 a.m. on a private transport driving along the north side of Huaraz until Paltay village from there we drive to the east side in order to reach Pashpa village at 3,600 m where the donkey drives with their donkeys wait for us and support us with the climbing equipment until the base camp at 4,350 m. where we stay the night there.
DAY 02: BASE CAMP – MORAINE CAMP OF TOCLLARAJU (5,200M.)
We have breakfast at Base Camp and we spend the free morning checking our climbing gear, we have lunch early about 11:00 am. then we start climbing up until reaching the moraine camp of Tocllaraju for about 3-4 hours and there we spend a night.
DAY 03: MORAINE CAMP – CAMP 1 – TOCLLARAJU SUMMIT (6,035 M) – BASE CAMP
We have a light breakfast and start climbing at midnight for about 7 hours to reach the summit, we reach the top at 6,035 m. from the top we can enjoy the beautiful view of some peaks such as Huascaran, Hualcan, Copa, Palcaraju, Ranrapalca, Huatsan, and others. After that, we start climbing down until reach the moraine camp where the cook waits for us with nice hot lunch then we all go back to the base camp where we spend a night.
DAY 04: BASE CAMP – PASHPA – HUARAZ
After having breakfast, we pick up all the camping equipment after that, we return back through the Ishinca valley until reaching Cochapampa, where private transport will be waiting for us to take us back to Huaraz.
